Tampa, FL (February 20, 2012) - Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU) announces the release of an innovative white paper to inform credit unions of current chip/PIN trends, why EMV is important and next steps for issuers.
As a leader in the card processing industry, CSCU works diligently to keep their members informed of current industry trends. CSCU contracted Mercator Advisory Group to conduct the research.
The global payments smartcard standard called EMV is coming to the United States. Both Visa and MasterCard have announced their support and a schedule for the U.S. migration to this new card format.
The results of this research paper will be discussed during a free webcast, open to the public, on February 23, 2012 at 2pm ET. All attendees of the webcast will receive a complimentary copy of the white paper. Registration for the webcast is available to CSCU members and non-members at www.cscu.net/webcast.
This webcast will examine EMV’s history, why EMV is the right choice for the U.S., and the schedule for its arrival on U.S. shores. The session will also examine the different options for card issuers to deploy EMV, their relative value, and how to decide on the right option to take. The session will briefly touch on how the EMV rollout bears on another major payment technology in development: mobile payments and NFC-based payments.
